The Blackbird Inn

Records show that the building (originally two) was open as an Inn in 1773. Since that time it has been used as a court room and the meeting-place for local clubs and societies. Today the Blackbird is still very much a land mark on the now busy A38 and offers an ideal eating spot for the passing motorist and local resident alike. The Pubs menu has been extendeded to include a variety of competitively priced dishes...steaks and grills plus a vegetarian section. We have 6 luxury en-suite rooms each with tea/coffee making facilities and a television.

Wellington is a small country town standing between the River Tone and the beautiful Blackdown Hills. It has a large number of speciality shops from which you can buy a wide range of goods. Apart from the items mentioned on the left, there are gift shops, craft shops, a music shop and an old-fashioned ironmongers where you can buy just one of an item. Local meats and cheeses are available and there is an excellent fish shop. A farmers market is held every third Saturday of the month.
