The Square and Compass is a relaxed pub set in the pretty rural village of Normanton on Trent. The casual atmosphere of the pub is created by the five hundred year oak beams, stone floors and walls.
Internet Wi-fi is available throughout the pub, annexe and garden.
We source local and seasonal produce to produce our set and special menus. We create wonderful pub classics including Square and Compass Fish and Chips, Steak and Ale Pie, Rib Eye Steak and Sausages with Spring Onion Mash alongside some more ‘restaurant style’ dishes such as Pan Fried Fillet of Sea Bass, Wild Mushroom Risotto and Eton Mess and Chocilate Fondant with rich home made vanilla ice cream. Our main course pub classics start from £7.95. We serve in the garden throughout the summer where you can enjoy a selection from any of our menus including fresh salads, sandwiches and home made burgers from our bar snacks menu or relax with Pimms or any of our range of ales and wines served from the bar. Luxury and Comfort is created in each individually decorated room, each has a king size bed with an abundance of pillows, comfy duvet and Egyptian cotton linen, the en-suite bathroom has Egyptian cotton towels and baths sheets and complimentary toiletries. A comfortable nights rest is followed by breakfast served in the pub with a wide selection of traditional cooked favourites and healthy options.
