Situated on the fringe of the beautiful English Lake district, the family-run Grange Hotel was built in 1866 in an elegant Italianate style. Considered to be one of the Lake District`s premier hotels due to its impressive location, warm hospitality, excellent service, stylish grandeur and first-class cuisine, the Hotel stands looking over the charming, unspoilt little town of Grange-over-Sands with its beautiful gardens, interesting shops and unique mile-long Victorian promenade - described by the feted travel writer, Bill Bryson, as one of his top six UK short-break destinations. With such a wealth of things to do and see on our doorstep, it`s not hard to see why the Grange Hotel is the ideal location for those who wish to experience the magic of the Lakes in comfort and style.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay, and offers one of the mildest climates in the North. The advent of the Furness Railway transformed the small fishing village of Grange-over-Sands into the fashionable Victorian/Edwardian resort, with wealthy merchants building grand houses, which now accommodate top quality hotels. A traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens, a duck pond, golf courses, brass band concerts and vantage points for bird watching are just some of the many attractions on offer. In Grange-over-Sands you will find a wide range of quality shops. On Main Street you will find anything from men's and ladies' outfitters, newsagents and ironmongers to chemists, bakeries and jewellers. Elsewhere there are small supermarkets, greengrocers, gifts shops and a delicatessan. |
