Ringmore House has been standing near the waters of the River Teign estuary since 1770, and is believed to date from 1680. The house is Grade II listed, and the current owners, Robert and Helen Scull have restored the house and recovered many original features, fireplaces in the bedrooms that have been unseen for over 50 years, internal shutters on the windows, fire cupboards and alcoves. The bedrooms and bathrooms are now beautifully decorated and furnished, with River estuary views from both the double rooms. Ringmore is an easy walk upriver from Shaldon, a beautiful valley with many thatched properties along tiny winding lanes, many dating from the 15th century. |

Little Ringmore stands on the edge of the estuary of the River Teign, an easy walk upstream from the main part of the seaside village of Shaldon, with its lovely sandy beaches. The house is designed with the living accommodation all upstairs, to take advantage of the lovely views both in front and behind the house. The drawing room looks towards the countryside, and opens out onto spacious balcony. It is comfortably furnished with sofas, and has a gas fire, and television with both DVD and video. The open plan kitchen and dining room, overlook the river estuary and the Strand with its listed buildings, and slipway for launching smaller boats. |
