HAMBUTTS MYND was built in the 1700s as a corn mill, which was driven by a wind mill. It still has the original beam and character. In 1800s it was converted into the first Girls School in the Gloucester village of Painswick, and then in latter years it was converted into a normal dwelling house, which is now run as a renowned Bed and Breakfast by John and Elizabeth. HAMBUTTS MYND is situated up a side road and not in the centre of the bustling village. We are 200 yards from the main road, very quiet, and just 5 minutes walk (2 blocks) from the beautiful Painswick with its historic buildings and magnificent church grounds. |

This is the heart of the legendary Cotswold countryside and the Falcon stands in the centre of the conservation village of Painswick, right on the ramblers "paradise" walk of The Cotswold Way. The Falcon's location means that it is very much a first choice stopover for walkers and tourists enjoying the breath taking, rambling Gloucestershire hills and valleys all around. There is even a special drying room provided at the Falcon for the convenience of ramblers, together with a large private car park for our guests. |
