Dating from 1844 Hollin Root Farm is a typical Lakeland farmhouse set in beautiful open countryside at Garth Row. We are situated three miles north of the market town of Kendal, just off the A6 and just outside the Lake District National Park. Its tranquil setting and large landscaped gardens make this an ideal place for longer stays and a good base from which to explore the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales. (Lake Windermere is only 8 miles away ). We are very popular as a stopover between England and Scotland. We have a large private car park for guests use, next to the farmhouse. |

The solid symmetry of Crosthwaite House commands views over the ruggedly romantic Lyth Valley, in an area of great natural beauty, with pleasant woodland and riverside walks. There is a well-appointed dining room with table license, where they serve delicious, traditional, home-style food, prepared by Marnie on the Aga, using local seasonal produce, and fruit from the orchard. There are six bedrooms to choose from, each decorated in a restful colour scheme. The three rooms at the front of the house have sweeping views over the valley, and in the room at the side of the house, a cosy window seat looks into the garden. |
