Grant yourself poetic licence, stay where the 19th century English romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley honeymooned in the summer of 1812. Established for well over 200 years, Shelley's takes its name from the famed 19th century English romantic poet 'Percy Bysshe Shelley', who honeymooned at the cottage, then known locally as Mrs. Hooper's Lodgings, during the summer of 1812 with his child bride, Harriet Westbrook. Shelley's is an award-winning hotel which commands spectacular, breathtaking sea views across Lynmouth Bay. The hotel itself has been sympathetically refurbished to create a warm, friendly and welcoming ambience. We have lovingly restored it to a very high standard throughout while under our personal supervision it has developed its own unique character, elegance and style that come only from attention to detail and precise service. You are our valued guest and our aim is to make your stay with us, a truly memorable time. Lynmouth is situated in Exmoor National Park on the A39 between Minehead and Barnstaple. From the M5 exit junction 23, Bridgwater, following the A39 towards Minehead and through Porlock along the coast to Lynmouth, or exit junction 27 towards Tiverton, following the A361 to South Molton, the A399 to Blackmore Gate and A39 to Lynmouth. Shelley’s is situated at the main road junction in the centre of the village, next to Glen Lyn Gorge and overlooking Lynmouth Bay. Your room will be available from 3pm, although we would advise should you wish to avoid day trippers that you enjoy your journey down and arrive after 4.30pm. Please unload luggage at the drop-off point in front before parking. Pay & display car parking is directly opposite with less than half-price £3 daily tickets valid for all 10 car parks in the area available from Shelley's reception.
