The Langstone Cliff Hotel in Devon, welcomed its first guests in the Spring of 1947, prior to that it was what the Victorians knew as a "Gentleman's Residence". The cast iron Verandah pictured here was, we believe, imported from the southern states of the USA around the 1900's and still proves a popular place to sit and enjoy a drink or a light meal all year round with it's panoramic views across the mouth of the River Exe towards Exmouth. Since those early days there have been many changes and the Langstone Cliff Hotel can now offer 66 en-suite rooms and a host of leisure facilities and business facilities that our earliest guests would surely have welcomed.
