...with an informal and relaxed atmosphere and situated on one of the most attractive stretches of Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk (as recently shown on tv), this splendid inn presents quality home-made food and accommodation. The Inn is situated in the centre of Ennerdale Bridge opposite the 19th century church and restored cottages and has a small stream running alongside it. Several local beers, including real ales are served alongside the locally sourced fresh quality meat, fish and produce. In the three letting rooms traditional comforts are much in evidence including central heating, colour televisions and tea/coffee facilities. Although one of the smaller lakes, Ennerdale can fairly claim to be the most beautiful. From here, valley paths, forest tracks and lake shores offer a variety of rewarding walks suitable for all ages and capabililities. Other activities in the locality including fishing, canoeing, birdwatching and pony trekking.
