This family-run country hotel overlooks Harlech Castle and rests opposite the championship Royal St. David's golf course. The hotel is easily accessible by picturesque country roads off of all major motorways to the west. Overlooking by the ancient fortress of Harlech Castle, the refurbished Y Branwen Hotel offers comfortable double or twin bedrooms in pleasant surroundings. Guests can enjoy excellent amenities and superb food prepared by the resident experienced chef. In the brasserie, visitors can enjoy freshly prepared local produce, cooked to order. The menu is changed regularly and there is an excellent wine list. There is also a cosy wine bar plus lounge bar serving a wide range of keg and traditional cask ales, lagers, ciders and bottled beers.

Proprietors Brian and Enid Youé were regular guests at the hotel themselves prior to 1997, when, on February 14th, Valentines Day, they became the proud owners. Now they offer a warm friendly welcome to all their guests, both young and old, new first time visitors, and long standing regulars. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation and first class home cooked food, in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Ideal for those "Get away from it all" holidays and short breaks. All rooms are well equipped with central heating, colour television, alarm clock, hair dryer and beverage tray. All rooms are either en-suite or with private facilities.

The Sandpiper is superbly situated on the seafront just across the road from Barmouth Sands and there is plenty of free parking. For those who prefer to travel by rail, we are within a short walk from main line railway station. The local line connects with several of the Great Little Trains of Wales. The area provides a variety of local and interesting footpaths, walks and climbs such as the Panorama Walk' which has breathtaking views of the Mawddach estuary and many others. An early Victorian Sea Captains home, Llys Olwen was established in 1972 by the present owners Ann and David Middleton. Over the years it has been tastefully restored featuring antiques sympathetic to the period of the house. The public rooms make full use of the original woodwork, reflecting the Victorian period with tapestries and floral decorations. The bedrooms are comfortable, spacious and have countryside views. Llys Olwen stands in its own grounds approximately 500 metres from a beautiful cliff walk overlooking the two bays of Nefyn & Morfa Nefyn. Our aim is to provide guests with the opportunity to unwind in a relaxed atmosphere whilst receiving excellent value for money.
