A Gothic-style country house in the Lake District, Monk Coniston provides elegant rooms within a short drive of Tarn Hows and Grizedale Forest. Once owned by Beatrix Potter, this Cumbrian house provides free on-site parking and Wi-Fi. Each guest room has a TV and tea and coffee facilities. All rooms also have an en suite shower. The house features a lounge, a bar and library, and the large gardens offer views towards the lake. There is a dining room which offers communal dining and fixed times for evening meals. Cooked breakfast is served each morning at Monk Coniston, with a buffet selection including cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, croissants and pastries. Five minutes’ walk from Coniston Water, Monk Coniston is around 11 miles from Windermere and 7 miles from Ambleside. The popular towns of Kendal and Keswick are within 35-40 minutes’ drive.
