Rochdale Football Club - Football Club

Rochdale Association Football Club are an English football club based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. They play their home matches at Spotland Stadium and are managed by Steve Parkin. They have an average attendance of around 2,500. Nicknamed 'The Dale', the team struggles to compete with more established football clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Oldham Athletic, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Bury. This is reflected by the fact that the club have spent the last 31 seasons in the Football League's bottom division, currently entitled League Two. They reached the League Cup final in 1962 (the only time a club from the bottom league division has reached the final of a major competition), where they lost to Norwich City.

The golf club, at Hopwood Park, is an 18 hole championship standard course designed by Harry Shapland Colt. It is a superb mixture of parkland and moorland set in some 240 acres. It totals 6,490 yards with SSS 72. It presents a real challenge to the low handicap golfer, yet the yellow course, at 6,235 yards SSS 70 also offers a choice to suit all handicaps. The Club has an extensive driving range and practice area incorporating covered teeing areas, providing the ideal place to warm up before a round. The professional shop stocks a wide range of equipment, clothing and accessories etc.. which will make your day complete.

Boundary Park is the main sport stadium in Oldham, England, located to the north of the town. Oldham Athletic Association Football Club and Oldham Roughyeds R.L.F.C. play their home games there. Away Fans are situated in the Rochdale Road End (covered), there's has been a debate between Latics fans for many years whether or not to Move home fans into the Rochdale Road End. The Away End is without a doubt one of if not thee best away stand's for creating alot of noise. The Acoustics are Class. Boundary Park still has it's reputation of being a cold ground, and the whether in Oldham can be unpredictable to say the least.

The ground was completely re-built in the 1990's with the last 'new' stand, the Cemetery End, completed in 1999. The new stands have vastly improved the overall look of the ground, whilst at the same time making it an all seated one. The Manchester Road End is a fair sized stand that is covered and has an electric scoreboard; however it does not run the full width of the pitch, one side ending with the edge of the penalty box. The other end, the Cemetery End, is a former terrace that has been demolished and replaced with a relatively new all seater stand.
