Warrington Golf Club - Warrington - Golf

Distance 3.98 miles (6.36 km)
The Warrington Golf Club was founded in 1903 and the course was designed by James Braid. Since this time, both course and clubhouse have witnessed many alterations, not least to the 18th hole, which was changed from a par-5 to a par-4 from the men's tees in the 1990s. The clubhouse was also renovated during this period. The club welcomes societies and visitors. After your round, why not celebrate your good score or drown your sorrows in the lounges, one of which has satellite television and a snooker table available.

Dunham Massey - Manchester - Historical Houses

Distance 4.88 miles (7.8 km)
When the house and estate of Dunham Massey was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976, it was one of the most generous the Trust was granted. Today, the ancient, walled deer park, tranquil gardens, lake and house provide a varied and peaceful day for the visitor. The oldest record of the deer park is in 1362 and it is known that the moat, which partly survives as the ornamental lake, once surrounded the old Manor House, possibly a castle before then. The now substantially flattened mound which is on the south-east corner of the house, may have been a Norman motte, but this is uncertain.
