We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to you to one of the most picturesque Parkland golf courses in the North of England, within five miles of Manchester and both the M62 and M60 motorway links. The river Medlock features on six of the holes as it meanders through the course, making it both challenging and interesting. Although the course can be described as undulating, buggies are available for hire; and the views have to be seen to be believed. The 12th tee gives a spectacular view of virtually the whole of the course. To provide facilities for good golf always has been, and hopefully always will be, our primary objective.

The famous name of Manchester City has been in existence since 1894 - when their predecessors Ardwick went into bankruptcy. They then played at Hyde Road but in 1923 they would move to Maine Road, the scene of many triumphs and disappointments. City have won two titles - the second coming in 1968 in the midst of their most successful era, under Joe Mercer, when they won the FA Cup, League Cup and Cup-Winners' Cup as well as the championship in a glorious three-year period. Fast Fact: Bert Trautmann, a former World War Two German POW, led City to a 3-1 win against Birmingham City in the 1956 FA Cup Final and played with a broken neck! Fast Fact: City's John Burridge is the oldest player to appear in the Premiership. He played in goal for Man City in their 3-2 loss to QPR in May 1995 aged 43 years and 5 months.

The golf club, at Hopwood Park, is an 18 hole championship standard course designed by Harry Shapland Colt. It is a superb mixture of parkland and moorland set in some 240 acres. It totals 6,490 yards with SSS 72. It presents a real challenge to the low handicap golfer, yet the yellow course, at 6,235 yards SSS 70 also offers a choice to suit all handicaps. The Club has an extensive driving range and practice area incorporating covered teeing areas, providing the ideal place to warm up before a round. The professional shop stocks a wide range of equipment, clothing and accessories etc.. which will make your day complete.
