Excellent Place To Stay
Stayed Monday to Friday of last week at this gem of a B&B, Ian and Lynne are excellent hosts and made us welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was

no.1 a superior double which was very spacious ,bathroom spot on with a massive walk in shower, all the facilities were just what you would want after a long day out in the beautiful Lake District. To top it all the breakfast was perfect you will want for nothing, the couple have catered for everybody\'s tastes, starting with any cereal you could want an extensive platter of fruits and yogurts and of course the full Cumbrian hot breakfast which they are happy to change if you only want certain items try the fried eggs they are lovely.

Ian has extensive knowledge of the area and was very happy to point us in the right direction for bars and restaurants. Thank you to Ian and Lynne for making or stay just perfect.

Excellent, Clean, And Homely B&b
Excellent, clean, and homely B&B located in a very convenient location just outside (but an easy walk) of Winderemere village. Lynn & Ian were fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful with local suggestions for food, walks and travel. What really stands out is the breakfast: the quality and selection is amazing, especially the variety of fresh fruit (by far the widest choice I have seen, and that is in comparison to many other five star hotels I have stayed at across the world!) Thoroughly recommended!

A Great Place To Stay.
We had a lovely couple of days in the Lake District which was enhanced by the warm welcome and very pleasant accommodation which was in a great location for exploring the Lakes. We had a large light airy room, everywhere was clean and tidy, our hosts were very attentive, there was a large range of fresh fruits and cereals as well as a full English breakfast on offer. Highly recommended we would definitely stay again.

Stott Park Bobbin Mill - Newby Bridge - Museum

Stott Park Bobbin Mill - Newby Bridge - Museum

Distance 6.58 miles (10.53 km)
A working mill built in 1835, Stott Park created the wooden bobbins vital to the spinning and weaving industries of Lancashire. Typical of mills across Cumbria, today you can see industry from a bygone age and watch as bobbins are made using the mill's original machinery. Although Stott Park worked continuously until 1971, it remains almost identical to its Victorian appearance of 100 years ago. With its Victorian machinery originally powered by a waterwheel and steam engine, Stott Park used birch, ash and sycamore to make wooden tool handles as well as bobbins. The mass of belts which fill the building still drive the cutting, boring and finishing machines than turn long thin poles into bobbins. You can watch a bobbin being made, and take it home as a souvenir.
