2 Nights At Fern Lodge
We stayed here whilst visiting our relatives over Easter. Lovely clean room, modern en suite & very good breakfast. Made to feel very welcome by peter, who couldn\'t be more helpful. If I had to say a negative, it would be that the double bed was a very small double, so when my hubby star fished, he Almost had me out the bed, lol.... we enjoyed our stay very much x

Lovely House, Warm Welcome And Fantastic Breakfast
We stayed a single night here just for a quick getaway over Good Friday/ Easter Saturday - what a treat. We arrived travel weary and made to feel very welcome by Peter. The room was comfortable and clean and in keeping with the Arts and Crafts style of the building. Breakfast was amazing and nothing too much trouble.

Nice People And Good Breakfast But Small Bed
Our own fault but these days we tend to assume that a small double refers to the room and that a double bed will either be a King size or two singles linked. Which was the case last week in Hungary and the following night in France.

Everything about the people and food was great and would come again but ask for twin beds.

Very Satisfied
I was staying at Fern Lodge to break my journey to France, the Shuttle service is only a 5 min drive. I was travelling with my 8 month old labrador and I had taken his cage for the bedroom. Peter was very welcoming and showed me to my double room (6) with a very nice en suite. Straight away nothing was too much trouble and I can honestly say that Peter went the extra mile to acommodate mine and my dogs needs. A lovely breakfast of salmon and scrambled eggs brought to my room, advice on where to eat that was dog friendly, and the walks nearby which were excellent. Peter also put a route together for me for my journey which was so kind. He really looked after me and I wouldn\'t hesitate in recommending this BB or booking again. And Hythe is a very nice town too.

Our hosts Peter and Frances were friendly and welcoming. The place is spotlessly clean with tea and biscuits in the room. The double bed was quite small but comfortable and we had a sea view which we sadly didn\'t have much time to appreciate as we only stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding at Port Lympne. Home From Home
Fern Lodge is in an ideal location for exploring the south east coast or as base for cross channel exploration.

The accommodation on offer is very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean.

Peter the proprietor serves up a beautifully cooked and substantial breakfast in the well appointed breakfast room.

The lounge is spacious and equiped with a large t.v. if that is of interest. Guests are encouraged to use the lounge which is peaceful and graciously furnished.

Wi Fi is available if required.

The site is extensive and parking is freely available, there is a large and well stocked garden.

If you enjoy olde world charm combining modern facilities then I would recommend this as the place for you.

Peter is a friendly and welcoming host who is keen to assist whilst not intruding upon ones privacy.

I could not fault any aspect of the facilities on offer at Fern Lodge during my stay and I shall be unquestionably booking again.

Owner - very friendly and welcoming, he called us prior to arrival to check for dietary requirements etc. when we arrived he was very welcoming and attentive.

Room - very clean and tidy. Spacious room with an ensuite. The heating in the room was switched on before we arrived so the room was lovely and warm. The bed was very comfy and we got a great nights sleep. Due to the time of year, we had an additional heater in the room.

Bathroom was very spacious and modern, although thr towels were a little small in size.

Breakfast - full English breakfast along with a selection of cereal. The full English was from local fresh produce, very delicious. The dining room was clean and tidy.

Next to the front door there is an honesty bar (fridge) containing a number of drinks such as beer, wine, soft drinks. There is a pot above thr fridge to place money in for the drinks, which the money goes to charity.

Local area - about a mile up the road, is the high street, which has a waitrose supermarket and the high street itself has restaurants and pubs and a Santander bank. The owner recommended a local pub for dinner, called the butt and sherry. Very nice food and reasonable priced.

Will most definitely return and stay again

Thank you

Recent Stay
My room was comforatble and adequately appointed tho the rigid fixing of the TV to the wall flat making it impossible to watch either from the comfortable chair or lying on the bed was rather irritating. Wi fi connection excellent and a more than adequate breakfast. The welcome and friendliness of the owner ( I only met the lady of the house) was first class and the location was ideal. My main concern was that there were no rates for single occupancy offered.

Human And Dog Friendly!
fern Lodge has been a delightful find which we now return to. Clean, comfortable and plentiful advice on wining and dining in the local area. Rooney the dog is always welcome. far superior to other experiences we have had in the area.

The room was comfortable and facilities clean. Only niggles were the door locks on room and bathroom had to be opened with both hands, awkward when carrying things. To fill kettle I had to keep leaving the room to go to the separate bathroom. A bit inconvenient. Rang reception buzzer in evening but nobody answered. The Address on website say no.89, but front door shows no.87 so I wasn't sure I had the right place. Car parking could be tidier, was worried about getting a puncture on the rough ground.

Pros: Good feel to the house. Plentiful breakfast. Warm, welcoming & entertaining host. Spacious lounge. Children's room huge.Much better value for a straightforward B&B than anything else we saw in the area.

Cons: Parking awkward as on an unmade slope. Garden needs some TLC (but you're not staying in the garden!). Our double room rather small if staying more than one night. A little road noise but not bad.
