Excellent B&b
We stayed at the Sea Crest for a single night during the illumination turn on.

We found the hotels location to be excellent, just minutes walk from the pleasure beach and sea front.

The hotel was impeccably clean and although the decor is a bit on the old side, this did not detract from our stay. Special mention also to the owners who made the stay with their friendliness and attention to detail.

In short, we wont be looking elsewhere next time we visit Blackpool 😊

My wife and I where looking for a weekend break to celebrate my 60th birthday, I saw an advert for the Sea Crest hotel had a look at the reviews which where excellent so I booked it, on arrival we where greeted by Sue who made us both feel welcome straight away, then Tony introduced himself and what a character he is, he took us to our room which was a twin room fully en suite, beds where extremely comfortable, tea & coffee making facilities, iron & ironing boarb available, even an alarm clock, breakfast is at 8-9am, selection of cereals available, full English breakfast, superb... If we wanted to know anything about the area we only had to ask, nothing was too much trouble for Tony & Sue.. Lovely And Cosy! 👍
We stayed here for 2 nights during March 2016 and were both very satisfied with our stay. The double bedroom was quite cosy but it was nice and warm plus the bed was very comfy too. It was in a quiet part of town so there was virtually zero noise either in or outside the hotel during our stay 👌. The breakfast was more than substantial and tasty!

The location in relation to the attractions around it was very convenient. The beach is a 3 minute walk away if that, and pleasure beach was also easily within walking distance.

The service and hospitality of the owners was brilliant and they made us feel very welcome! 😊

Overall our stay here was warm, comfortable and above all, enjoyable! Thank you!

Lovely Little Hotel
As this was our first time here we didn\'t know what to expect, but as soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by a lovely couple, Tony and Sue who welcome you into their home.

My husband and I had a lovely front facing room, and our son and daughter had a twin on the same floor which was spotless!

Lovely breakfast in the morning, and nothing too much trouble even when they were busy in the kitchen and I asked if me and my daughter could have a hair-dryer each.

Tried to get WiFi on my tablet but couldn\'t get a signal with being on the 1st floor, so didn\'t bother after that.

The only thing I would say is that there is nowhere to hang your wet towels in the bathroom so maybe a couple of hooks would be handy.

On our second night had a couple of drinks in the bar which was well stocked with beer and wine.

Would stay again if we returned to Blackpool!

Sea Crest
Central, very clean , welcoming. Only stayed one night but felt very much at home. Walls are thin , shower weak but to be honest these were small fry compared to the welcome.

Highly Recommended
On arrival we were met by Tony who was very welcoming and helpful. We had the family room which was decorated to a high standard and exceptionally clean. Throughout our stay Tony and Sue were very friendly and helpful and was always at hand if we required anything. Breakfast was delicious which was served between 8 & 9 which was perfect for our daughter who liked a lie in. Hotel is great for people with children as Tony and Sue make them feel welcome and also allow them in the bar so parents can have a drink. Would definitely stay here next time we go to blackpool and will recommend to anybody going there. Thanks for a great time.

Great Stay
Another great stay, the rooms are very clean and fresh and the breakfast was A1. Whilst staying there was a little trouble with a guest at night, Tony dealt with it very very professionally and couldn't be apologetic enough to us. I have stayed at plenty of b&b's where the owners turn a blind eye to it and you are left with noise all night. Well done Tony, we will be back for another lovely quiet stay.

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Distance 1.27 miles (2.03 km)
Blackpool Tower opened on 14th May 1894, with the aquarium existing as a stand a lone attraction from the late 1870's. The tower is 518ft 9inches tall, with the walk of faith at 380ft from street level. The Tower alone contains 2,493 tons of steel and 93 tons of cast iron. The building at the base contains 985 tons of steel and 259 tons of cast iron.
The Tower has a viewing platform at 380ft above the promenade and is reached by a lift or if you are a maintanance worker by 536 steps!
Not for the feint hearted is the 'Walk of Faith' glass floor, a two inch clear panel that looks straight down to the Promenade below.
The 'Walk of Faith' glass floor panel was placed at the Tower top in 1998. The glass floor weighs half a tonne and is made up of two sheets of laminated glass. The 'Walk of Faith' can withstand the weight equivalent to five baby elephants.
To reach the top viewing platform at approximately 450ft you can walk up 2 flights of stairs.
The present Ballroom was designed by Frank Matcham and opened in 1899. The Ballroom floor measures 120ft by 102ft. It comprises 30,602 separate blocks of mahogany, oak and walnut. The first Wurlitzer organ was installed in the Ballroom in 1929. It was replaced in 1935 with one to Reginald Dixon's specification. The first organ went to the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens.
During the day visit the Ballroom to hear one of the famous organs being played. The Tower Ballroom is the traditional home of the mighty Wurlitzer Organ which rises up through the stage and complemented by the 3 Deck Wersi - the world's most advanced Blackpool Tower Ballroom - The Wurlitzer Organorgan, it includes over 600 sounds in the software, is touch screen sensitive and can create the sound of a complete orchestra.
The Tower Circus is positioned at the base of the tower, between its four legs. The circus first opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and has not missed a season since.

The present interior was designed by Frank Matcham and was completed in 1900.

The circus ring can be lowered into a pool of water and holds 42,000 gallons at a depth of up to 4 ft 6 inches, which allows for Grand Finales with Dancing Fountains. The Tower Circus is one of four left in the world that can do this.
During more than a century of entertainment, the world's greatest circus stars have paraded across its ring. The clown Charlie Cairoli appeared at the tower for 39 years. Britain's best-known ringmaster Norman Barrett worked the ring for 25 years.
Animals appeared in the circus until 1990.
It was planned to close the famous circus at the end of the 1990 season and replace it with an animatronic attraction. Public opinion and the fact the animatronics were not ready meant that the circus continued.
Today, the circus is produced and directed by Hungarian Laci Endresz. A live band (sometimes accompanied by Mooky the Clown) provides all the music for the show, often dynamically syncing with the performers' movements. The circus band play a variety of different songs, usually Latin for the acts. In the winter the circus stages a pantomime instead of the regular show.
The oldest part of the building is the aquarium which was part of Dr Cockers' Menagarie and Aquarium in the 1870s.[1] It was kept open to earn revenue while the tower building went up around it. The aquarium was modelled on the limestone caverns in Derbyshire. It houses 57 different species of fresh water and salt water fish and the largest tank holds 32,000 litres of salt water.[28]
The aquarium closed permanently at the end of the 2010 season and will be completely remodelled to make way for a new "Dungeons" attraction.[29] This is part of the investment by the Merlin Group, who took over the operation of the Tower at the end of the 2010 season on behalf of new owners Blackpool Council
