Excellent For Walkers
From the moment we stepped into the porch with our muddy boots we felt welcome. There were trays for our boots and a drying rom was available for our coats. Food was delicious - try the venison casserole if available.. House is chemical free and we had the best night sleep since arriving in the UK. Thank you!

The Best In The West
We cannot thank Rosi and Frank enough for their wonderful hospitality during our stay. The hotel is welcoming, homely and comfortable. The rooms were spotless and the food to die for. Frank\'s creations were fantastic and daily menu\'s delightful. Our packed lunches Frank made are highly recommended. Exmoor House is a \"must place to stay\".

Great Food , Nice Atmosphere.
This was our second visit to Exmoor House. We like the quietness, the friendliness, the charm of the place and especially the meals. It is obvious that quality is important. There is nothing fast about food here, carefully made, well thought out menus, slow cooked food. We loved it.

Every Comfort
Just like last time, we were brilliantly looked after by Frank and Rosi. So many thoughtful details in the bedroom and guest lounge (e.g. a working radio rather than a TV). Frank's cooking is splendid – especially his chocolate and coconut flapjack. We look forward to our next visit.

Exmoor House
Friendly welcome. Good homemade cake and tea. Very comfortable rooms, somehow both quirky and traditional. Ours was quiet even though it was at the front Lots of nice homely touches which we appreciated. Exceptional food cooked by someone who obviously loves to cook. Good hiking in the area. We thought it was high standard at very reasonable prices.

Beautiful area and very interesting building. Friendly and helpful owners for whom nothing is too much trouble. Only had one meal (breakfast) but it was one of the best I have had. Coffee is worth going back there!! Will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Dunster Castle - Dunster - Castle

Dunster Castle - Dunster - Castle

Distance 5.16 miles (8.26 km)
Dunster Castle dominates a steep hill overlooking the picturesque village of Dunster. The hill has been fortified since Saxon times, although nothing now remains of these early defences. During the early medieval period the sea reached the base of the hill offering a natural defence, and strong walls, towers, ramparts and outworks protected the other sides. In the late 14th century the castle came into the possession of the Luttrell family, and remained in their ownership for the next six hundred years. The house was modified and developed over the following centuries, and much of the current appearance dates from the 18th century when the park was landscaped and the Green Court, terraced grounds and follies were created. Much of the furniture in the house also dates from this period.

Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club - Minehead - Golf

Distance 6.03 miles (9.65 km)
As the oldest golf club in Somerset and one of the oldest in the West of England (founded in 1882), Minehead is justly proud of its course, which combines the best of links and some characteristics of parkland golf. The greenstaff, under the direction of Robert Barrett, himself a county player, take a pride in the presentation of the course. The greens are as good, winter or summer, as you will find anywhere. At 6,228 yards, the par of 71 represents a true test for the scratch golfers as well as the novice. The course is open to members and visitors.
