Excellent Service
All though the hotel is dated, the service was fantanstic. The town cryer was a lovely touch on new years eve. Had a wonderful time! Food great could not complain hot and lots of it. The guests staying there was happy to join in the festive spirit!

Great Stay
We had a great stay at the Bedford Hotel for a weekend in November. A proper girly weekend and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel is in an excellently position and only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Blackpool. The manger was excellent and went out of his way to help us out. Hoping to go away again in December at this hotel but with my husband.

Our Stay With The Bedfords!
I was impressed with the friendly staff and support they all gave to myself and two children during our stay. Although the hotel seems a little tired and dated that didn\'t take the focus away from the friendliness of everyone. The chef was accommodating when booking late in for and evening meal. The evening waitress on Saturday night did brilliantly even under criticism from guests who constantly complained about waiting for their food but didn\'t voice it to he,r but to each other which made me and my young children very uncomfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future.

Thank you again to all at the Bedford.

Enjoyable Short Break
Had a lovely stay at the bedford hotel. The welcome we got when we arrived was lovely and friendly. The room was clean. The pool was a lovely bonus my daughter loved swimming in the pool and we all used it. My husband used the sauna too. The service at breakfast was lovely and there was a reasonable choice of food. We had a pleasant stay here and would definitely use the hotel again if we come to stay in blackpool.

Return To The Bedford
Came back to The Bedford after a two year break, we usually have come with our children and grandchildren however came as a couple for the first time in years!

Our room was fine, clean and tidy, bathroom area roomy, was very warm but fan provided made this more comfortable. Was not disturbed by any other guest so got a good nights sleep. Foodwise the breakfasts are second to none, really varied choices and service very efficient. The only change that we noticed was in the evening meals,in as much that veg were in general quite soggy and not very tasty, probably due to them being mainly frozen, although the main choices of meat, chicken etc were very well cooked and tasty. Entertainment was adequate, shame that more people did not use the bar on an evening it has a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Must mention the singer on Mon 8th Sept he was outstanding, lovely voice and very talented. We will be back thank you for giving us a lovely place to stay we will not go anywhere else!

Easter Break
This was our first stay at this hotel and we found The Bedford to be one of the better hotels in Blackpool. We always try and book a hotel that has a swimming pool for our children and although the pool wasn't the biggest they enjoyed themselves very much . All the staff were very pleasant and helped in any way they could. I had read some previous reviews where previous occupants had moaned about the breakfast but we found it to be adequate although could maybe offer a change to extra items such as mushrooms, fried bread or black pudding instead of just beans. I still give it 10 out of 10. Thank you.

This is my second visit to the Bedford and it was just as good as the first time! This time we had a seafront family room which was nice to wake up every morning to the lovely view! Clean sheets every morning with a well kept tidy room well done to the chamber maid :) breakfast is brilliant with a good choice! Again the kids enjoyed the hotel pool although it was a tad bit colder than last time but I suppose this is associated with the cooler Easter weather! The hotel is in a great location with buses and trams just across from the hotel which was very convenient ! Thank you again Bedford hotel and will see you again soon...

Lovely Weekend Stay
We stayed at the Bedford Hotel for 2 nights over a weekend and overall had a nice stay. The best feature of our room was the huge window that looked out at the sea. The room was a little on the small side for 4 people, especially the bathroom which could benefit from a little modernising however it was very clean and warm.

The attitude of the staff was outstanding and they couldn't do enough to help. Breakfast was good and the swimming pool went down a treat with the children! The public areas were very clean and inviting and the prices at the bar were very resonable.

The main concern we had with the hotel was with what some guests chose to wear for breakfast. With 2 young children we were very disappointed to find that the hotel allowed guests to come down to breakfast in their nightware, dressing gowns and slippers. As a hotel they have the right to insist that guests dress appropriatly when using public areas and we think that they should enforce this for the benefit of the other guests.

Overall however,we had a lovely weekend stay, we were made to feel very welcome and the location of the hotel is excellent.

Stayed for a short break (2 nights) for my son's birthday in February. We had a family room with sea view. The gentleman who managed the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, however a little cold and I couldnt seem to get the heater to work. The room had lots of room and the view was lovely even though it was February. The area is a lot quieter and we did prefer this as it was beside the North Pier and close to the Tower and Wintergardens. Our friends decided to join us with their kids on the Saturday night and I called the hotel and they were able to accomodate them, they were also very happy with the hotel Will def stay here again. The breakfast is brilliant :) Kids loved the pool however were only able to visit it once due to the amount of activities we were cramming into the weekend. The Bedford Hotel
A very comfortable and well appointed hotel, in a great location. The swimming pool a real bonus when travelling with children particularly. Very helpful approach from staff. One moan: a very, very noisy family from Scotland (only relevant in the sense that every word/curse could be clearly distinguished) in the room above us disturbed us every night and every morning, particularly when they launched into a drunken, abusive argument, which frightened my children. I had to knock on their door and tell them to stop. I'm not sure what the hotel can do about this, other than make it known such behaviour will not be tolerated

Room was very clean and comfortable. Food was much better than that in other hotels we've stayed at in Blackpool.

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Distance 0.71 miles (1.13 km)
Blackpool Tower opened on 14th May 1894, with the aquarium existing as a stand a lone attraction from the late 1870's. The tower is 518ft 9inches tall, with the walk of faith at 380ft from street level. The Tower alone contains 2,493 tons of steel and 93 tons of cast iron. The building at the base contains 985 tons of steel and 259 tons of cast iron.
The Tower has a viewing platform at 380ft above the promenade and is reached by a lift or if you are a maintanance worker by 536 steps!
Not for the feint hearted is the 'Walk of Faith' glass floor, a two inch clear panel that looks straight down to the Promenade below.
The 'Walk of Faith' glass floor panel was placed at the Tower top in 1998. The glass floor weighs half a tonne and is made up of two sheets of laminated glass. The 'Walk of Faith' can withstand the weight equivalent to five baby elephants.
To reach the top viewing platform at approximately 450ft you can walk up 2 flights of stairs.
The present Ballroom was designed by Frank Matcham and opened in 1899. The Ballroom floor measures 120ft by 102ft. It comprises 30,602 separate blocks of mahogany, oak and walnut. The first Wurlitzer organ was installed in the Ballroom in 1929. It was replaced in 1935 with one to Reginald Dixon's specification. The first organ went to the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens.
During the day visit the Ballroom to hear one of the famous organs being played. The Tower Ballroom is the traditional home of the mighty Wurlitzer Organ which rises up through the stage and complemented by the 3 Deck Wersi - the world's most advanced Blackpool Tower Ballroom - The Wurlitzer Organorgan, it includes over 600 sounds in the software, is touch screen sensitive and can create the sound of a complete orchestra.
The Tower Circus is positioned at the base of the tower, between its four legs. The circus first opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and has not missed a season since.

The present interior was designed by Frank Matcham and was completed in 1900.

The circus ring can be lowered into a pool of water and holds 42,000 gallons at a depth of up to 4 ft 6 inches, which allows for Grand Finales with Dancing Fountains. The Tower Circus is one of four left in the world that can do this.
During more than a century of entertainment, the world's greatest circus stars have paraded across its ring. The clown Charlie Cairoli appeared at the tower for 39 years. Britain's best-known ringmaster Norman Barrett worked the ring for 25 years.
Animals appeared in the circus until 1990.
It was planned to close the famous circus at the end of the 1990 season and replace it with an animatronic attraction. Public opinion and the fact the animatronics were not ready meant that the circus continued.
Today, the circus is produced and directed by Hungarian Laci Endresz. A live band (sometimes accompanied by Mooky the Clown) provides all the music for the show, often dynamically syncing with the performers' movements. The circus band play a variety of different songs, usually Latin for the acts. In the winter the circus stages a pantomime instead of the regular show.
The oldest part of the building is the aquarium which was part of Dr Cockers' Menagarie and Aquarium in the 1870s.[1] It was kept open to earn revenue while the tower building went up around it. The aquarium was modelled on the limestone caverns in Derbyshire. It houses 57 different species of fresh water and salt water fish and the largest tank holds 32,000 litres of salt water.[28]
The aquarium closed permanently at the end of the 2010 season and will be completely remodelled to make way for a new "Dungeons" attraction.[29] This is part of the investment by the Merlin Group, who took over the operation of the Tower at the end of the 2010 season on behalf of new owners Blackpool Council
