Hotel Description

One of the most beautifully situated coastal hotels in England, the three-star Pier Hotel sits by Gorleston’s fabulous beach and close to the harbour mouth. Our 18 en suite bedrooms are decorated and furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind. Those facing south look out over miles of sandy beach, while rooms on the north side of the hotel boast views of Great Yarmouth’s busy port. The whole of the ground floor was refurbished in 2010, creating a large and well-designed bar - the Pub on the Pier. One of the most popular watering holes in Gorleston, it's spacious and stylish, providing a cosy retreat in winter and a great place to soak up the coastal views in summer. You can enjoy those same beach views from the Pier Restaurant, our elegant dining room, where all the food is freshly prepared and the menu is continually updated.

Nice Location
Well located and friendly staff. Breakfast made to order and pleasing. Room was clean and well presented - well priced.

Would certainly visit again. Sadly I did not get chance to try the evening menu - but bar had pleasant view of beach, and a decent selection of drinks.

An Enjoyable Stay
Stayed here recently for two days and nights as we had a Wedding to go to locally, we were very pleased with the Hotel and our very nice room. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was 10 out of 10! We ate in the Hotel on one evening and were very happy with the food and the service.

Relaxing Weekend
We needed to 'get away' for a couple of days as we prepared for our move.

We had visited Gorleston before, but never stayed at The Pier Hotel.

We booked on-line (very easy and quick) and were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the front door.

The room was very comfortable and provided for everything we needed.

The food (dinner and breakfast) was first class.

The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive.

We will certainly return and we will be booking up a surprise treat week-end for our daughter, son-in-law and their children.

Gorleston is a great place to stay and The Pier Hotel makes it special.

Ace As Always!
If you want a lovely location, excellent food, great service, a lively atmosphere and above all, excellent value for money, the Pier is the place to be. I stayed there for over a year whilst working in the area a couple of years back and took my wife back for a weekend break. She loved it and the staff welcomed me back with real warmth. If there is an hotel /pub / restaurant like this in heaven, St Peter, make me a reservation!

Fantastic Rooms
I used to have grandparents in Gorleston and used to stay in the area on a regular basis.

I have eaten and had drinks in the pier over the years bit never styed as had no need.

The hotel is a very historical building but the room we stayed at was fantastic, it had recently been refurbished and was to the standard of a suite in some hotels. We could have not asked for much more in the room and would happily stay again.

The room had a sea view but was slightly obscured by the terrace area outside, an idea for the future would be to find a way to access the terrace from the room.

Because of the age of the hotel disabled access to the rooms upstairs is difficult, but my wife managed and did have to sit on the stairs but they were nice and clean.

Would stay again in the future Gorleston is always a place close to my heart.

Public areas are very nice and updated. The staff are all pleasant and helpful. Bar meals and restaurants offer excellent meals with a good variety. Beds very comfortable but rooms refelct the age of the property although when we were there some refurbishment was going on.

Friendly Stay
I recently spent 5 nights at the Pier on business, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The bar/restaurant has a good selection of food and drink for all tastes, and it doesn't all come with chips and puree'd spinach in a lime jus. The room was a bit dated, but they are going through a period of refurbishment - and the bed was comfy and a great shower. I would love to stay again, but they were booked up for my next visit.

Hotel Appraisal
Very much enjoyed are stay, the decor is impressive and attention to detail makes a big difference compared to other hotels. Only thing that marred are stay was the rattling bathroom room window which could be rectified with a catch instead of wedged with a piece of card. This was mentioned to reception but the receptionist more concerned about the renovation in the future than the customers needs for the moment. The bar and restaurant are to be commended

Worth A Visit!
We booked to stay at The Pier Hotel for a three day break, we had never stayed in Gorleston before, and did not know this part even existed! What a find! Fantastic views of the beach, (we had booked a sea view room)a breakfast we could never finish even though it was beautifully cooked and presented-there was just too much and really friendly staff. We ate in the Restaurant each evening and once again could not fault the food, staff or service. Definitely hoping to go back for another visit in the future.

Would Recommend To Anyone!
I recently stayed at The Pier Hotel with my wife celebrating our first wedding anniversary and we cannot praise it enough, everything was just excellent from the cleanliness, to the staff, to the food, and the Sunrise Suite was simply amazing with it's balcony overlooking the beach, just a shame we couldn't stay longer!

All in all we both loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area, hence giving it 5 out of 5 stars!
